Jhanielle Brown is a Jamaican photographer based in Houston, Texas, whose work explores the relationship between people and the environments that shape them, from natural landscapes to the everyday spaces we inhabit and the memories they hold.
Her path into photography began with a magazine story on Alzheimer's and dementia, which sparked a deep conviction that documentation is an act of preservation. Every memory, every community, every place deserves to be recorded before it is lost.
She is the lead photographer and visual storyteller for the Black Heritage Tree Project, and has completed an assignment for National Geographic highlighting changemakers in land and ocean conservation across the African diaspora. Her background in Chemical Engineering sharpens a systems thinker's eye for pattern, place, and human connection.
